Golden Eagles Will Face St. Lawrence in First Round of NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament

ROCKPORT, N.Y.-For the first time since 2009, Brockport men's soccer are State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) champions. The Golden Eagles (15-4-2) won their 11th conference title after defeating Cortland (15-2-3) 2-0 Saturday afternoon, giving the team automatic entry into the NCAA tournament.
 
Upon Monday afternoons NCAA Division III selection show results, the Golden Eagles have been selected to take on the St. Lawrence Saints in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Green and Gold will not have to travel far as the University of Rochester will be hosting the first round of the NCAA National Championships. Brockport will be returning to the national spotlight for the 14th time in program history and for the sixth time under head coach Gary Lapietra.
 
The two teams are set to kick off Saturday, Nov.10 at the University of Rochester's E. Claiborne Robins Stadium with start time set for 7:30 p.m. The advancing team will face the winners of the University of Rochester and Mt. St. Mary's contest, with the game time set for 6 p.m. on Nov. 11.
