Hernandez and Queen take home PrestoSports Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week Awards

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has awarded Witman Hernandez (Huntington, N.Y.) of Oneonta and Andreas Queen (Stone Ridge, N.Y.) of Buffalo State this week's PrestoSports Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week. 

Hernandez led Oneonta to a 2-0 week with great offensive performances in both games scoring four goals to lead Oneonta to the Mayor's Cup tournament title. In the championship game, Hernandez posted three goals to pace the Red Dragons to a 4-0 win against Penn State Harrisburg. Hernandez ended the week with a shot-on-goal percentage of .778 on nine total shots. Along with the four goals, Hernandez tallied an assist making him a participant in five of the Red Dragon's eight goals. His two-day performance earned him the Offensive MVP award. 

Goalkeeper, Queen anchored Buffalo State's defense to a flawless week, not giving up a single score in either game. He set the Buffalo State career shutouts record, adding two more to bring his total to 19, while backstopping the Bengals to a title in the Fredonia Blue Devils Classic. Queen made one save in Friday's 4-0 win over Westminster and had three stops in Saturday's 5-0 victory against Houghton. Queen posted a perfect save percentage (1.000) on the week and averaged two saves in each game.
