CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Buffalo State's Ali Shawish (Lackawanna, N.Y.) and Andreas Queen (Stone Ridge, N.Y.) as this weeks PrestoSports Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week. Shawish walks away with the offensive award and Queen the defensive award.
Shawish, the senior business major led the Bengals to two more SUNYAC victories over the weekend, scoring both goals in Friday's 2-0 win at Brockport and then adding a goal and assist in another 2-0 victory at Geneseo on Saturday. Shawish participated in 75 percent of all scoring plays this weekend thus granting him Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Queen registered his seventh and eighth shutouts of the season over the weekend, backstopping the Bengals to two more SUNYAC victories. The senior made six stops in Friday's 2-0 win at Brockport, and then had two saves in another 2-0 victory at Geneseo on Saturday. Queen anchored the defense this weekend posting a perfect save percentage allowing for his team to never be behind in any game this week.
