A Day in the Life of Domenic Monti

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) looks into A Day in the Life of Fredonia men's soccer student-athlete Domenic Monti.

The business finance major from Lancaster, N.Y. is also a member of the baseball team. At midfield on the soccer field Monti played in all 18 games, started in 16, and played a total of 1,050 minutes in the 2019 season.


What time do you typically wake up?

Around 9 a.m.

What is one thing that you do (nearly) every day that keeps you on track for competition?

I try to drink a lot of water to keep myself well hydrated and ready for practice or games.

What motivates you (to be the best in your sport)?

What motivates me in my sports is winning, not just winning in general for myself, but for my teammates, coaches, and Fredonia.

How do you stay connected with your teammates?

Usually through group chats or when acceptable being able to hangout.

What is your top lunch choice?

Buffalo chicken wrap

What time is practice?

It usually is at 3 p.m. but since COVID-19 it is to be determined.

What class are you looking forward to/enjoying this semester?

I'm looking forward to my financial investment class because I think having a good understanding of this topic is important.

What helps you stay focused each day?

Having a drive to be successful during my time at Fredonia both with sport and school, but then also having success after Fredonia.

Extra toasty Cheezits
