Weekly men's swimming and diving awards announced

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has made selections for this week's top athletes in men's swimming and diving.  The winners were picked from nominations made by each conference member's athletic department.

Geneseo's Samuel Randall has been named Diver of the Week for the second straight week.  The senior from Pittsford helped the Knights to a 183-117 victory over Ithaca last Saturday with wins in both diving events.  In the 1-meter, Randall scored a 310.10 and recorded a 318.30 in the 3-meter.

Cooper Knapp, a sophomore from New Paltz, has been awarded Swimmer of the Week.  The Glens Falls native had outstanding performances in two meets this weeks.  Against Hamilton, Knapp set a pool and program record in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:04.9 and picked up a win in the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.46). Knapp was also part of a 400-Yard medley relay that broke the pool record (3:36.05).  In a meet against Vassar, he won the 100-yard breaststroke (51.17), 200-yard individual medley (1:59.51), and 500-yard freestyle (5:01.41).
