Athletes of the week selected for men's swimming and diving

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the top men's swimmer and diver from this week's competition.  The winners were selected from nominations made by schools throughout the conference.

New Paltz's Cooper Knapp was selected as Men's Swimmer of the Week.  The sophomore had an exceptional showing at the TCNJ Invite.  In the 200 yard butterfly, he picked up a victory and broke a program record with a time of 1:47.4.  The Glenns Falls native also had wins in the 200 and 400-yard medley races and contributed a leg to the winning 400-yard freestyle relay.

Geneseo's Samuel Randall has been named Diver of the Week.  The Pittsford native was able to capture a victory in the one-meter dive and a second-place finish in the three-meter dive to lead Geneseo to second place at the Ithaca Winter Inivitational. In a meet that included Division I and II athletes, Randall scored 508.60 in the three-meter and 543.45 in the one-meter to guide the Knights.
