Mergler and Randall Selected as Men's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, NY. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the top men's swimmer and diver of the week. The winners were selected from top nominations made by conference members.

Senior Connor Mergler from Buffalo State is this week's swimmer of the week. Mergler helped set three pool records as he swam his final meet at Kissinger Pool in a dual meet victory over Brockport on Saturday. The senior also set a pool mark winning the 100 free with the fastest time in the SUNYAC this season at 46.22 seconds. He also set records with the winning 200 free and 400 medley relays which posted times of 1:28.12 and 3:38.08 respectively.

Senior Samuel Randall from Geneseo is this week's diver of the week. Randall set a pair of program records to help the Knights earn a dual meet victory over Rochester, taking first place in both of the diving events on Friday and Saturday. In the one-meter, Randall set a SUNYAC and Geneseo record, scoring 571.05 in 11 dives. On the three-meter, the senior set a Geneseo program record with a score of 591.08, just three points shy of the SUNYAC record.
