CORTLAND N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its men's track & field athlete and field athlete of the week. This week's awards go to two Cortland Red Dragons. The athlete of the week is the sophomore James Forte(Merrick, N.Y.). Field athlete of the week is the senior Dawan Jones(Buffalo, N.Y).
Forte won the 800-meter run during Cortland's 67-60 dual-meet victory at Ithaca. The time currently ranks him seventh nationally in Division III.
Jones won both the triple jump and long jump to account for 10 key points during Cortland's 67-60 dual-meet win at Ithaca. His triple jump of 14.75 meters (48' 4.75") has him ranked second nationally in Division III. In the long jump, Jones jumped 6.92 meters (22' 8.5") which ranks him 12th nationally.
