Lalone and Walter earn track and field weekly honors

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) names Cortland's Payton Lalone (Ogdensburg, N.Y. / Ogdensburg Free Academy) as its Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Geneseo's Chris Walter (Athol Springs, N.Y. / St. Francis)as its Track Athlete of the Week.

Lalone won both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash and led off the winning 4x200-meter relay team in Cortland's 64-54 dual-meet win at Ithaca College. His 200-meter time of 22.38 seconds is currently first in the SUNYAC and seventh nationally in Division III. He ranks third in the SUNYAC in the 60-meter dash. Cortland's time of 1:32.40 in the 4x200 is currently the best in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference.

Walter won the long jump at the Houghton December Classic, Friday, with the seventh-best mark (7.03m/23' 0.75") in Division III this season.
