SUNYAC Selects PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track and Field weekly awards. Cortland's Micah Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Field Athlete of the Week and his teammate Rich Samuels (Wallkill, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Track Athlete of the Week.

Assibey-Bonsu finished second in the triple jump at the Cornell Deneault Invitational with a distance of 14.69 meters (48' 2.5") that currently ranks seventh nationally in Division III and first in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference. Assibey-Bonsu was the national runner-up in the event last winter.

Samuels won the 800-meter run in a field of 24 competitors at Cornell's Deneault Invitational. His time of 1:54.79 is currently fourth in the AARTFC and 24th nationally in Division III. In addition, Samuels ran the anchor leg on Cortland's second-place 4x400-meter relay team that posted a time of 3:21.20, also an AARTFC qualifier.
