SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Weeks announced

CORTLAND N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has released it's first weekly Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the 2018 season. Winners were selected from nominations across the conference.

Michael Hartlieb III, a freshman from Plattsburgh has been selected as the Field Athlete of the Week with three top-5 finishes over the weekend. Hartlieb III, won the discus with a mark of 126' 4" to pick up ten points at the Saints Ice Breaker outdoor meet hosted by St. Lawrence on Saturday at Merrick-Pinkard Track and Field Complex. He threw 39' 9.75" in the shot put to place third and get six more points. The Ames native earned his third top-5 finish of the day by throwing 114' 3" in the hammer to finish fifth and earn another two points.

Cortland's Storm Malone was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week. The junior from Harrison, NY had a great start to the season, finishing second out of 20 competitors in the 110-meter hurdles at the Widener University Danny Curran Invitational with a time of 15.02 seconds. His performance is an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifier and ranks 19th nationally in Division III, as of late Saturday night. Malone also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.96 seconds.
