Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week released

CORTLAND, N.Y - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week. This week's recipients were chosen from nominations from around the conference.

Cortland's Dawan Jones has been chosen as this week's Field Athlete of the Week. Jones jumped his way to a first place finish at the Cortland Please Stop Snowing Team Challenge with a distance of 14.84 meters (48' 8.25") in the triple jump. That currently ranks him second nationally in Division III and is also an AARTFC qualifier. The Buffalo native's effort helped the Red Dragons clinch the team win, finishing first out of eight schools in the final team standings.

Geneseo's Isaac Garcia-Cassani has been selected as this week's Track Athlete of the Week. Competing in a field of Division I, II, III and open competitors, Garcia-Cassani finished fourth in the invite section of the 1,500 at the Bucknell Invitational Saturday. Enroute to the fourth-place finish, he posted the fastest time (3:45.48) in Division III this spring. finishing less than three seconds behind three runners from DI Syracuse, one of them being a previous IAAF World Championships competitor
