CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Plattsburgh's Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y.) as its Track Athlete of the Week and Brockport's Taj Shaw (Orchard Park, N.Y.) as its Field Athlete of the Week.
Fabian anchored the winning 4x100 meter relay at the Saints Ice Breaker Open on Saturday hosted by St. Lawrence. They won with a time of 44.78 seconds. He led the 4x800 relay that won won with a time of 8:11.20. Fabian was second in the 200 meter with a SUNYAC time of 22.88 seconds.
Shaw opened up the field events in the long jump, notching third-place marked at 6.61 meters followed by two second-place finishes in the high jump and triple jump. The junior was marked at 1.84 meters in the high jump and 13.91 meters in the triple jump.
