2017 NCAA men's cross country championship recap

The 2017 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships took place Saturday at the North Farm Facility in Elsah, Illinois.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) was represented by the third-ranked team in the nation, Geneseo, along with two individual qualifiers, Oswego's Colin Greenseich (Cicero, NY) and Oneonta's Devin Akerley (Corinth, NY).

As a team, Geneseo sent their top-seven runners and placed 11th out of the field of 32 total teams with a team time of 2:06:42.78 with an average time of 25:20.56. In the men's 8k-championship race, Geneseo was led by Isaac Garcia-Cassani, who had the best finish among all SUNYAC runners, placing out of 279 runners with a time of 24:32.24. Akerley placed 87th finishing the race in 25:25.94 and Greenseich finished 150th completing the race in 25:45.90.
