Wright and Higgins recognized as PrestoSports Softball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) recognizes Cortland's Halle Wright and Oswego's Fiona Higgins as its PrestoSports Softball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week respectively

Wright hit .538 (7-for-13) with a triple, four RBI, three runs and a steal in four games over the weekend. She also handled 15 fielding chances (eight putouts, seven assists) without an error. Wright was 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs in a 13-1 over Ursinus Saturday and 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in a 6-5, 10-inning win over Ursinus Sunday. She also had a hit in a loss to nationally second-ranked Salisbury on Sunday.

Higgins has an overall ERA of 0.83 this season, allowing only four hits in two games this past week. Higgins has already doubled her career total in strikeouts with 64 this season and 27 in just two games in her last two starts. Higgins is 17th in the country in hits allowed per seven innings (3.33), 26th in the country in strikeouts (64), 19th in the country in strikeouts per seven innings (10.7) and 32nd in the country in Earned Run Average.
