Plattsburgh State junior pitcher Katie Pitkin fashioned a 1.98 ERA and went 4-1 in the circle in a 6-4 week for the Cardinals at the Rebel Spring Games and the NTC Spring Games in Florida. She also struck out 34 batters and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on three putouts and four assists. Pitkin threw a pair of complete-game shutouts during the week, blanking Franklin & Marshall in a 5-0 victory on Monday before shutting out the University of Rochester in a 3-0 triumph on Friday. Pitkin proved difficult to figure out against Westfield State and Manhattanville College as well, striking out nine and eight batters in those two wins, respectively. She currently leads the SUNYAC in strikeouts (40) and wins (5).
