SUNYAC selects Oswego's Windhausen for Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Oswego's Rachael Windhausen (Liverpool, N.Y.) as this week's Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Windhausen led the Lakers in two hard-fought overtime losses, setting and resetting a career-high amount of points, 24 on Friday and 34 on Saturday. On Friday in overtime against Potsdam, she played all 45 minutes for the Lakers easily recording a double-double adding 16 rebounds to her 24 points. In a double overtime game on Saturday, Windhausen was 12-for-15 shooting from the field, a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, while recording two blocked shots in another double-double with 21 rebounds and 34 points. She added herself to the Laker record books, with the sixth highest point total in a single game since Kelly Mraz had a 37-point outburst in a 2005 four overtime contest. Windhausen looks to stay hot as the Lakers are set to play Oneonta on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in their last home game of the season.
