New Paltz to Host First Two Rounds of NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Committee announced Monday the field of 64 teams for the 2019 national championship with the State University of New York at New Paltz playing host for the first time in school history.

The Hawks (23-4 overall, 17-1 SUNYAC) earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament following a thrilling, 63-57 overtime win in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title game over defending conference champion SUNY Geneseo Saturday in the Hawk Center. The championship victory marked the program's fourth title, and third in four years. 

SUNY New Paltz will play host to Rutgers-University Newark, Hartwick College and Emmanuel College in the opening round. The Hawks will face the Raiders Friday at 7:30 p.m., while Hartwick College and the Saints will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. The winner of each matchup will play in the second round Saturday at 6 p.m., with the winner advancing into the sectional round.

Entrance will be admitted one hour prior to the first game-time, with tickets ranging from $6 for adults and $4 for seniors, students with I.D. and children 3-12 years old.
