New Paltz takes 2020 SUNYAC Women's Basketball Crown

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - New Paltz defeated Cortland, 63-53, to win the 2020 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's basketball championship, Saturday in New Paltz. This is the Hawks second straight and fifth overall conference title. With the win New Paltz earns an automatic berth into the 2020 NCAA tournament.


Elite 20

The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The 2020 women's basketball award winner is Marion Dietz a senior from New Paltz who holds a 3.88 GPA majoring in early childhood education B-6/math.
