Brown and Meager named Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is proud to announce this weeks Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week. From Cortland, this week's Offensive Athlete of the Week is sophomore Lexie Meager. On the other side of the field, this week's Defensive Athlete of the Week is a senior from Brockport, Sarah Brown.  

Meager totaled 10 points on nine goals and one assist, six ground balls, seven caused turnovers and 15 draw controls in three games for the Red Dragons (6-4, 1-0 SUNYAC) last week. In a 15-14 setback at Nazareth on Monday, she tallied three goals and one assist and recorded three ground balls, three caused turnovers and six draws. In a 9-8 neutral-site loss to ninth-ranked Trinity on Thursday, Meager netted four goals and added three ground balls, three caused turnovers and five draws. She completed the week with two goals, one caused turnover and four draws in a 15-5 home win versus New Paltz on Saturday. For the season, Meager leads Cortland in scoring with 40 points on a team-best 34 goals and six assists and is second with 16 caused turnovers and 34 draws.

Brown led the Golden Eagles to a 1-1 record this weekend in net. She racked up 14 saves over two games with a 31.8 save percentage.
