SUNYAC selects Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Oswego senior Teresa Shattuck (Syracuse, N.Y.) as the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Buffalo State freshman Janae Nelson (Elmont, N.Y.) as the Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

In Oswego's home game against Lycoming, the senior attacker recorded 12 points on one goal and 11 assists. Her 11 assists sets a new single-game record for the Lakers and her point total is the third-best in school history. Shattuck already holds the career assist mark at Oswego (163) heading into the 2019 season and begins the season just 57 points short of breaking the record for total points at the college. Shattuck starts off her season with 19 total assists. Her 6.5 assists per game currently ranks atop the nation in that category while her 9.5 points per game ties her for second nationally in the that category.

The freshman goalie needed to make just four saves to backstop the Bengals to a 13-2 victory over Allegheny on Saturday for her second collegiate victory. Nelson's save percentage was 66.7 for the week.
