CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) names Buffalo State and Brockport athletes as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
Buffalo State's Nina Schaefer (Lafayette, N.Y.) has been named SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. The senior tallied 14 goals and 19 points in two games to become the 18th player in school history to reach 100 career points. Schaefer matched a school single-game record with 13 points on eight goals and five assists in Wednesday's 23-7 victory over Fredonia. She then went on to tally six more goals in a 16-14 loss to Oneonta on Saturday.
Brockport senior Jillian Babinksy (Sound Beach, N.Y.) has been named SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Babinsky caused two turnovers and three draw controls this past week.
