Potsdam's O'Connor and Brockport's Elmer selected as Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week
CORTLAND N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Potsdam senior Cayla O'Connor (Dexter, N.Y.) as the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Brockport freshman Morgan Elmer (Syracuse, N.Y.) as the Defensive Player of the Week. 
 
O'Connor totaled 10 points, 12 draw controls, 10 caused turnovers and nine ground balls in a 1-1 week for the Bears. Potsdam's captain had four goals, one assist, five draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls in a loss to Oneonta on Wednesday. On Saturday, she scored five goals, including four of the Bears' last six, to help Potsdam pull away from Fredonia late for a victory. She also registered seven caused turnovers, seven draw controls and five ground balls. 
 
Elmer continued her great defense for the Green and Gold in this weeks sleight of games. The freshman goalie from Syracuse, N.Y. allowed only one goal against Fredonia on Tuesday and picked up her 10th win of the season against Oneonta Saturday. Elmer currently leads all SUNYAC goalkeepers this season with the highest save percentage (52.2%) and lowest goals against average (7.36 gaa).
