Wiley and Potter earn women's lacrosse weekly awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tabs Oswego's Sela Wiley its Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Cortland's Paige Potter was selected as the Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Wiley added another seven points in a 16-10 victory over Fredonia. The sophomore had five goals, two assists while adding 12 draw controls, four caused turnovers and four ground balls to her stat line. She currently leads the SUNYAC with 7.5 points/game and 22 draw controls.

Potter led the nationally 22nd-ranked Red Dragons to a 6-3 upset versus ninth-ranked and previously undefeated St. John Fisher in non-conference action on Wednesday. She tied her career high with 14 saves, including 11 in the second half and two in the closing minutes to seal the win, added two ground balls and one caused turnover as she held the Cardinals to more than 10 goals below their season scoring average. Potter recorded an .824 save percentage in the game and lowered her season GAA to 9.80 and raised her save percentage to .490 as the Red Dragons improved to 4-1 on the season.
