Hofer and Elmer earn women's lacrosse weekly awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named New Paltz's Amy Hofer the Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week and Brockport's Morgan Elmer the Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.

Hofer led the Hawks in goals in two of thier three games this week. She surpassed her 100th career goal against Potsdam less than a minute into the game and proceeded to rattle off seven more to tie a career-high eight goals on the day, second-most in Hawks single-game history. She added two assists in the game with her 10 points also amounting to second-most in single-game history for the program. She then finished with a team-most three goals against Oneonta. In the first matchup against Potsdam Monday, Hofer led the team with eight draw controls, while adding four goals and one assist after going a perfect 2-for-2 on free position opportunities.

Elmer was in the cage all week for the Golden Eagles as they earned two wins, improving to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in SUNYAC competition. She totaled 21 saves in the pair of contests, allowing just six goals to be scored and earning a save percentage of 77.8% for the week. In the 12-5 win over Nazareth, the junior goalie recorded a career-high 17 saves. Elmer and the rest of the Green and Gold are currently on a four-game win streak.
