SUNYAC announces Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, NY - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected this week's Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week based on performances  during the week of September 11-17.  Brockport's Kimberly Lubanski has been selected as this week's Defensive Athlete of the Week, and Potsdam's Brooke Falsion has been selected as this week's Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second straight week.  

Lubanksi helped the Green and Gold notch a 1-0-1 week. In the game against D'Youville College, the sophomore goalkeeper faced five shots, making two saves. Lubanski was then put to the test against Nazareth College, where she faced a career high 29 shots and had a career high in saves with 14, in a 0-0 draw against the Golden Flyers. The Golden Eagles will travel to Alfred to face the Saxons this Tuesday.

Potsdam's Falsion started off the week with one goal and one assist in the Bears' tie with Clarkson Tuesday night. She scored her second goal of the week against Utica in the 3-2 victory followed by another goal and assist in the 4-0 win over Elmira on Saturday. Falsion totaled eight points on the week for the 2-0-1 Bears. She currently ranks fourth in program history all-time points with 57 and is second in goals scored with 25. The Bears will travel to Troy, NY to face Sage this Tuesday.
