Miller and Steinhauer named SUNYAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) would like to announce its Defensive and Offensive Athletes of the Week in women's soccer. This week's Offensive Athlete of the Week is the junior forward from Oneonta Julie Stenhauer (East Syracuse, N.Y.). The Defensive Athlete of the Week is the Freshman goalkeeper from Cortland Abby Miller. (Andover, N.Y.)

Steinhauer was the leader of Oneonta's offense in a 3-0 week that included a pair of SUNYAC victories to earn a conference tournament spot . Steinhauer scored three goals one against Buffalo State and two against Fredonia. She also added two assists one in each game. Steinhauer currently leads Oneonta in scoring with seven goals and four assists. The Red Dragons have been on a roll as of late with five straight wins including four shutout wins.

Miller came off the bench 13 times previously to play the second half of a game. In her first career start, she posted a shutout for the Red Dragon. Miller matched her career best with seven saves as Cortland defeated Oswego, 1-0, in a home SUNYAC game to clinch the third seed in the upcoming SUNYAC tournament. Miller's best and most crucial stop in the game came in the 84th minute with a leaping save that kept the game scoreless. Miller has a 5-2-3 record with a 0.73 GAA, 37 saves and a .860 save percentage.
