Seidman, Svendsen announced as SUNYAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Allison Seidman (Commack,NY/Commack) and Danika Svendsen (Stillwater,NY/Stillwater) as the Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week.

Seidman, a Plattsburgh freshman, was crucial offensively for the Cardinals in their two SUNYAC games during the week. She totaled five points on the week, scoring two goals and creating one assist. In the first game against Fredonia, Seidman scored the first goal of the game and then assisted on the second goal of the game to lead Plattsburgh to a 2-0 win. She also scored the first goal of the game against Buffalo State to give Plattsburgh an early lead and eventually hold on for a 2-1 win. Seidman now has six goals and seven assists on the season, she has tallied 19 points.

Cortland's goalkeeper, Svendsen, posted a 2-0 record against SUNYAC opponents during the week, allowing only one goal. Against Geneseo, she made three saves on four shots on goal to anchor Cortland to a 2-1 win and give Geneseo their first conference loss of the season. Svendsen then made two saves on two shots on goal in a 1-0 shutout victory over Brockport. Svendsen has a 8-3-2 record for the season, with five shutouts and a .875 save percentage.
