CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Potsdam's Lexi Dean (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Brockport's Morgan Lupo (Auburn, N.Y.) and Potsdam's as this week's PrestoSports Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week respectively.
Dean had 11 points in a 2-1 week for the Bears. She had two goals and two assists in a 5-1 victory over Roger Williams in the first round of the New England College Tournament on Friday. The following afternoon, Dean added a goal and three assists in a 5-1 win over the host Pilgrims.
Freshman goalkeeper Lupo made the first two starts of her collegiate career last week, and helped Brockport secure wins in both games played. During her collegiate debut against St. John Fisher, Lupo made 10 saves to aid the team's 2-1 overtime victory. She came back in the next game against Houghton, making two saves to record a clean sheet in a 2-0 win. The Golden Eagles are now 2-2 on the season and 2-0 with Lupo in net on the backlines.
