O'Shea and Svendsen of Cortland take Women's Soccer PrestoSports Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Alannah O'Shea (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and Danika Svendsen (Stillwater, N.Y.) as this week's PrestoSports Womens Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively. 

O'Shea helped lead the Red Dragons to a 1-0-1 record in road conference games last week, scoring her first three goals of the season. In a 3-2 overtime victory at Brockport on Friday, O'Shea cut an early 2-0 Brockport lead to 2-1 with her first goal of the game in the 19th minute. She then netted the game-winning goal 5:49 into overtime with a shot from 28 yards away. On Saturday, O'Shea tallied the game-tying goal in the 84th minute as she converted a penalty kick in Cortland's 1-1 double-overtime tie at 17th-ranked Geneseo.

Svendsen posted a 1-0-1 record with a 1.31 GAA, 17 saves and an .850 save percentage in a pair of conference road games last weekend. In a 3-2 overtime win at Brockport on Friday, Svendsen made six saves. She followed up with a career-high 11 saves as Cortland played to a 1-1 double-overtime tie at 17th-ranked Geneseo on Saturday.
