Dean and Usborne take home Women's Soccer PrestoSports Athlete of the Week Awards

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Lexi Dean (Schenectady, N.Y.) of Potsdam and Kayla Usborne (Madison, N.Y.) of Brockport as this week's PrestoSports Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Dean helped the Bears to a 1-0-1 week and stay in the playoff hunt with seven points this weekend. She had the game-winning goal in Potsdam's 2-0 win at Oswego on Friday. She then had two goals and an assist as the Bears rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie Cortland 3-3 on Saturday. Dean is now leading the SUNYAC in scoring again with 28 points on 10 goals and eight assists.

Usborne started in net for both of Brockport's wins over the weekend as the team won by a combined score of 8-0. She made five saves in a shutout win against Oneonta, playing the full 90 minutes during the 3-0 victory. Against New Paltz the freshman goalkeeper made five more saves before leaving the game late in the second half, contributing to yet another clean sheet for Brockport. The Golden Eagles have officially clinched a spot in the SUNYAC tournament with these two wins over the weekend.
