SUNYAC selects Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, NY - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected this week's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week. Geneseo's Syndey Ng (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been chosen as Swimmer of the Week, and Brockport's Loren Sayers (Elmira, N.Y.) has been chosen as Diver of the Week.  

Sophomore diver Loren Sayers had a first-place finish in the 3 meter dive with a score of 246.40. Sayers also had a second-place finish in the 1 meter dive with a final score of 196.55 in a 176-113 victory over Potsdam on Saturday. The Golden Eagles are 2-2 on the season, and will travel to Oswego to face the Lakers this Saturday in a conference matchup.

Geneseo's Sydney Ng earned three wins at Cortland on Saturday, placing first in the 100 breast, the 500 free, and swimming a leg in the first place 200 medley relay. In the 100 breast, the junior Staten Island native touched the wall in 1:02.26, while posting a 5:20.85 in the 500 free. In the 200 medley relay, Ng teamed with first-year teammates Noelle Staso, Olivia Hilt and Deidra Osula to post a 1:51.92 finish. Ng also competed as part of the second-place 400 free relay team, touching the wall in 3:48.08. The Knights defeated Cortland, 216-83. Geneseo will seek to extend their three-meet win streak this weekend against Ithaca and Hartwick.
