CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the top women's swimmer and diver for the week. The winners were selected from top nominations made by conference members.
Junior Riley Synan from Oswego is this week's swimmer of the week. She took home four individual wins and two relay wins in the Lakers' two meets this week. On Wednesday, Synan notched victories in the 200-yard fly (2:12.80) and 100-yard fly (1:00.30), as well as in the 200-yard free relay (1:47.06). The junior also swam to a second-place finish in the 100-yard free (56.37), missing first place by only 0.3 seconds. Synan recorded three more first-place finishes and a second place finish against Buffalo State on Saturday. She won the 200-yard free (2:04.29) and 100-yard fly (1:01.01), as well as a team victory in the 200-yard medley relay (1:57.73).
Freshman Ashleigh Reinhardt from Fredonia is this week's diver of the week. She was second in the 1-meter with 352.40 points and second in the 3-meter with 327.65 during two days of diving at Trinity (Texas) University.
