Coombs, Frascatore selected as Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its first weekly awards this season for women's swimming and diving. Potsdam junior Samantha Coombs is the Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Oswego sophomore Miranda Frascatore is the Women's Diver of the Week.

Coombs, a native of Jamesville, N.Y.,  was a big part of the Potsdam women's 142-106 victory over Norwich University in the Bears' season opener. The junior swam to victory in the in the 50 freestyle (25.99), 100 freestyle (56.72) and the 200 freestyle (2:07.03).

Frascatore, a native of Clay, N.Y.,  topped the competition at RIT during the week, claiming the 1-meter event with a score of 204.05. The sophomore also claimed a diving victory at Oneonta on Saturday, where she posted a score of 222.70 in the 1-meter dive.
