CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the recipients of its weekly awards for women's swimming and diving. For the second time this season, both Potsdam junior Samantha Coombs (Jamesville, N.Y.) and Oswego sophomore Miranda Frascatore (Clay, N.Y.) have each received honors as the Swimmer of the Week and Diver of the Week, respectively.
Coombs led the Bears women's swimming and diving team to a victory over Brockport. Coombs won the 50 Freestyle (25.02), 100 Freestyle (54.25), 200 Freestyle (2:00.27), and helped grab a victory in the 400 medley relay (4:16.2).
Sophomore Miranda Frascatore claimed wins in both the 1-meter (249.05) and the 3-meter (243.80) events. Frascatore is 5-1 on the season, winning all but one dive, in which she placed second.
