SUNYAC selects PrestoSports Women's Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects New Paltz's Kirsten Giovanniello (Bellmore, N.Y.) and Brockport's Loren Sayers (Elmira, N.Y.) as this week's PrestoSports Women's Swimming and Diving recipients.

Giovanniello claimed her first collegiate victory Saturday against Adelphi, winning the women's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.29. She then went on to win the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.91) and now holds top-five times in three separate events in the SUNYAC. Giovanniello was also apart of the Hawks' first-place winning 400 medley relay team, which touched in 4:10.66, nearly five-seconds faster than the second-place team.

Sayers has been a staple for the Golden Eagles diving squad throughout her four years and has started her senior season no differently. The senior grabbed first place in both diving events this weekend at Potsdam, securing a 225.75 win in the 1 meter dive and a 255.25 win in the 3 meter dive.
