New Paltz wins 2018 SUNYAC women's tennis championship

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - New Paltz defeated Oneonta, 5-1, to win its fifth overall State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's tennis championship and first since 2010, Sunday at the Binghamton Tennis Center.

Current head coach Rob Bruley led the Hawks to each of their five SUNYAC crowns (2002, 2006, 2007, 2010) and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA DIII women's tennis tournament which is played in the spring.

New Paltz had a 2-1 lead over Oneonta after doubles play with wins from Trinity Chow/Laura Koob (8-3) and Victoria Zuzual/Lindsay Haley (7-5). Koob, Courtney Koran and Haley, the Tournament MVP, won their singles matches to give the Hawks three more points for the team win. Box Score
