CORTLAND, N.Y. - Natalia Krol (So, Greenvale, N.Y.) of Geneseo is this week's PrestoSports Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week. Abby Madigan (Fr, Endicott, N.Y.) and Vyda Van Denburg (Fr, Kingston, N.Y.) of Cortland are awarded with this week's PrestoSports Doubles Team of the Week.
Krol posted a 3-1 mark in singles play at the Mary Hosking Invitational, hosted by William Smith, over the weekend. In a tournament field filled with the toughest regional competition, Krol dropped a tightly contested match in the first round of the tournament, but bounced back with three-straight singles victories to win the consolation bracket.
Madigan and Van Denburg won 8-0 at third doubles during Cortland's 7-2 dual win at Houghton. They also both posted singles victories - Madigan at #3 (6-1, 6-1) and Van Deburg at #6 (6-0, 6-0).
