Geneseo and Brockport selected for this week's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors

CORTLAND, NY - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Geneseo's Shayna Held (Wantagh, N.Y.) as this week's indoor track and field track Athlete of the Week, and Brockport's Victoire Kothor (Greece, N.Y.) as this week's indoor track and field field Athlete of the Week.

Held had multiple solid performances to lead the Knights to first place at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday. She finished second in the 200 (26.30) with the third-best time in program history, finished third in the 60 hurdles after posting the 8th-fastest time in Division III this season (9.07) in the prelims, and led off the runner-up 4x400 relay (4:11.06).

The Knights will compete in the Cornell Kane Invitational this weekend at Cornell University.

Kothor dominated the Ithaca Quad Meet, finishing in first place in both of her events. The day began with Kothor breaking the facility record of 13.79m by throwing 14.61m, which also helped her qualify for the Atlantic Region Meet. Kothor once again qualified for the Atlantic Region Meet in the women weight throw, by finishing first with a toss of 16.44.

The Eagles will host the Brockport Multi & Invitational this weekend.
