SUNYAC announces this week's Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Plattsburgh's Elisabeth Plympton as this week's Women's Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week, and Cortland's Harley Buczkowski as this week's Field Athlete of the Week.

Plympton won the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.76 seconds and also won the 200 meter dash with a 25.95 to pick up 20 points for the Cardinals at the Middlebury Invitational this past weekend. The sophomore is currently ranked 5th in NCAA Division III in the 60 meter dash and ranked 10th in the 200, as well as being ranked first in the SUNYAC and the region. 

Buczkowski broke a 17-year-old school record in the indoor weight throw with her distance of 16.40 meters (53' 9.75") at the Cornell University Kane Invitational. Her performance, as of late Saturday night, ranks 14th nationally in NCAA Division III and third in the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference. The senior placed second out of 17 competitors in the event and was the top collegiate finisher. In addition, Buczkowski finished fourth out of 17 competitors in the shot put at 10.46 meters (34' 4").
