Geneseo Sweeps Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected this week's Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Geneseo's Shayna Held has been selected as this week's Women's Indoor Track and Field Field Athlete of the Week, and teammate Elise Ramirez has been selected as Women's Indoor Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week. 

Held broke her own program record, winning the pentathlon at the Ithaca Winter Invitational on Sunday. The junior multi-event athlete scored 3,301, which currently ranks seventh in NCAA Division III. This is Held's third Athlete of the Week honor of the season.

Ramirez won the elite section of the 5,000 at the Tufts Cupid Challenge on Saturday. The junior distance runner's time of 17:18.62 is currently the 12th-fastest time in NCAA Division III. 

The Knights will compete at the Boston University Valentine Invitational this upcoming weekend.
