Plattsburgh's Coon and Plympton named SUNYAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the recpients of its weekly awards for Women's Indoor Track and Field. Plattsburgh junior Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) has been honored as the Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while Plattsburgh junior Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) has been chosen as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Plympton won the 60-meter dash with a new meet record of 7.92 seconds that qualified her for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championship (AARTFC) at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday. Plympton also won the 200-meters with an AARTFC time of 26.09 seconds. The sophomore is Top-16 in NCAA Division III in the 60-meters and is tied for 1st in the SUNYAC and tied for 3rd in the Region. In the 200-meter dash win she is Top-6 in NCAA Division III and first in the SUNYAC and first in the region.

Coon won weight throw with a SUNYAC qualifying mark of 46' 9.00". She finished second in shot put with a SUNYAC qualifying mark of 36' 11" at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday. The junior is currently second in the SUNYAC in shot put and fifth in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference(AARTFC). She is third in the SUNYAC in weight throw and fourth in the AARTFC.
