SUNYAC selects Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Plattsburgh junior Elisabeth Plympton, (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) as Women's Track Athlete of the Week, and Buffalo State freshman Nisa Raqib, (Buffalo, NY as Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Elisabeth Plympton led off the women's 4x200 meter relay that set the meet record and the Plattsburgh State school record with a time of 1:44.90 on Saturday at the Middlebury Team Challenge. The 4x200 relay has the fastest time in the region currently. Plympton went on the break the meet record in the 60-meter dash prelims with a 7.89, only to break her own meet record again in the finals with a 7.87, which is the second fastest time in the conference and third in the region. Her time also ranks her 31st in the country. Finally, Plympton won the 200-meters with her seasons best time of 25.97, which is the fastest time in the SUNYAC Conference, fourth in the Region and 27th in all of NCAA Division III.

Nisa Raqib popped a school-record triple jump of 11.90 meters (39'04") to win the RIT Last Chance Meet on Saturday. Her jump broke a nine-year-old school record by nine inches and was the second-longest jump by anyone in NCAA Division III this season.

Buffalo State and Plattsburgh will both travel to Houghton this weekend for the Confrenece Championship meet.
