Lavarnway and Berry honored with PrestoSports Indoor Track & Field weekly awards

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) PrestoSports Women's Indoor Track and Field weekly awards determined. Geneseo's Emily Lavarnway (Ovid, N.Y.) is the PrestoSports Track Athlete of the Week and teammate Jenna Berry (Rochester, N.Y.) is the Field Athlete of the Week.

Lavarnway posted a pair of impressive marks at the RIT Invitational. She won the 500m, finishing in 1:19.48, the Knights' fastest finish in the event since 2017, and then turned in the top time in the 60 hurdles preliminaries, finishing in 9.38, but did not run in the finals. She also turned in a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.56m (5' 1.25").

Berry finished first in the high jump at the RIT Invitational on Saturday. She cleared 1.64m (5'4.5") to set the highest jump in the SUNYAC so far this season. Her mark ranks t-16th in the nation for the women's high jump.
