Tylea McCarthy-Walker dominated the long jump at the Cortland Please Stop Snowing Challenge on Friday. McCarthy-Walker cruised to a first place finish with an outstanding distance of 5.72 meters in the event, finishing nearly two feet farther over the runner-up. That distance is the fifth best in the country this season, 10 spots higher than the next-best SUNYAC long jump competitor. The sophomore's 5.72 meter mark also set a new school record and was a personal best as well.
