Geneseo's Cergol awarded SUNYAC Volleyball Athlete of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Grace Cergol of Geneseo as this week's Volleyball Athlete of the Week. 

The Knights went 2-1 on the road this weekend as they beat Nazareth and Western Connecticut to extend their winning streak to ten straight matches before losing at Vassar. The winning streak tied for the second most in program history when Geneseo won ten straight in 1998.

Over the weekend, Cergol was credited with 42 kills and 30 digs en route to her third volleyball SUNYAC Athlete of the Week award of the season. The sophomore currently leads the SUNYAC in kills with 277, kills per set with 4.54, points with 308.5 and points per set with 5.1. 

At 13-5 and 3-0 in conference play, Geneseo currently sits atop the SUNYAC volleyball standings. They travel to Houghton Wednesday and continue SUNYAC competition as they host Cortland, Brockport, Buffalo State, New Paltz and Plattsburgh in the upcoming pool play this weekend.
