CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is set for its second volleyball pool play weekend, October 6-7. This weekend's pool play will be hosted by Oswego and Geneseo.
The action starts at 5 p.m. on Friday in Geneseo with Cortland (1-2) taking on the Knights, who have a perfect record in SUNYAC play at 3-0. Also at 5 p.m. in Geneseo, Brockport will be facing Plattsburgh (0-3). Brockport also comes into this weekend's pool play undefeated in conference play. The nightcap in Geneseo has Buffalo State (0-3) battling New Paltz (2-1) at 7 p.m.
In Oswego at 5 p.m., Oneonta will be taking the court to face Fredonia. Both Fredonia and Oneonta come in to play this weekend with a conference recorded of 2-1. Also at 5 p.m., Potsdam will be taking on the host Oswego. Both teams will enter at 1-2, looking for the win to get them back to .500 in conference play.
After this weekend, there will be one more pool play weekend left in the SUNYAC volleyball season. The next pool play weekend will be October 20-21, hosted by Buffalo State and Oneonta. After that weekend, the SUNYAC volleyball season will move into the playoffs, which will run from October 31 until November 4.
