Culeton and Magallon selected as SUNYAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the week is Clara Culeton and the Defensive Athlete of the Week is Natalie Magallon. 

Culeton, the Oneonta sophomore, helped lead the Red Dragons to a 2-1 record this past week, including a conference win against Oswego. For the week Culeton had 33 kills, a .382 hitting percentage, seven digs, and 11 blocks. In the 3-1 loss against Union she had 13 kills, three digs, three blocks, and a .345 hitting percentage. The second match against St. John Fisher was Culeton's most efficient match of the week, she put up a hitting percentage of .538, while also adding nine kills, one dig, and three blocks in the 3-0 Oneonta win. In the final match of the week against SUNYAC rival Oswego, she totaled 11 kills, a .346 hitting percentage, three digs and five blocks.

Magallon, the SUNYAC leader in digs and digs per set, continued that trend by totaling 86 digs and 6.62 digs per set in three matches during the week for Potsdam. She had 27 digs in a 3-2 loss against St. Lawrence, then she had 30 digs in a 3-1 win versus Keene State, and finally ended the week with 29 digs in a 3-1 loss against Western Connecticut State. For the season the Bears junior has a total of 475 digs and 5.86 digs per set.
