2017 NCAA women's cross country championship recap

The 2017 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships took place Saturday at the North Farm Facility in Elsah, Illinois.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) was represented by the third ranked team in the nation, Geneseo, along with one individual qualifier, Megan Reilly (Warwick, NY) from New Paltz.

As a team, Geneseo sent their top-7 runners and placed sixth out of the field of 32 with a team time of 1:50:11.70 and an average time of 21:46.22 in the women's 6k championship race. The Knights had two top-50 finishes out of the 279 total runners. Kristen Homeyer (Kings Park, NY) placed 32nd with a time of 21:30.50 while Elise Ramirez (Nesconset, NY) finished in 46th by completing the race in 21:42.90. As for Reilly, the sophomore ended the race in 110th place, finishing in 22:16.00.
