CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of NEw York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) highlights Plattsburgh's Jazz Roberts in this week's Women's Cross Country Senior Spotlight.
Roberts has competed in 17 cross country meets in her three years of competition at Plattsburgh. She was a three-time PrestoSports SUNYAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week in 2019 and she placed first three times (Cardinal Classic: 5k - 19:29.8, Plattsburgh State Cross Country Invite: 5k - 18:58.3, Aldrich Invitational: 6k - 22:37.3). She also ran to a second-place finish with a six-kilometer personal-best time of 21:52.7 at the Connecticut College Invitational.
In 2018, Roberts ran six races for the Cardinals, finished 29th of 104 at the SUNYAC Championships (6K, 26:52.5) and placed 182nd of 305 at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships (6K, 26:21.9).
In 2017, Roberts was the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year and second team All-Conference. She ran in six meets for the Cardinals, finishing 164th in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Championship Meet with a six-kilometer time of 25:24.5. She placed sixth at the SUNYAC Championship meet with a time of 23:02.9 -- her fastest 6k of the season.
In addition, Roberts is a three-time SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection and a Dean's List honoree as an English: Literature major.
